Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin sold 10 billion MOODENG tokens for 308.69 ETH (about $762,000) and donated 260 ETH (about $637,000) to biotech philanthropy platform Kanro to fight airborne diseases.

This transaction occurred almost two days after Buterin sold MOODENG, Neiro, Degen, Kabosu tokens and USDT stablecoins for 140.67 ETH (about $341,000). Buterin still owns about 40 billion MOODENG tokens, which are worth about $3.66 million. However, the sale of a large volume of tokens led to a decline in their rate: over the past 24 hours it fell by 21% to $0.1077.

The co-founder of Ethereum emphasized that memcoins can have a positive impact on the world if they are used for good purposes. Projects like MOODENG can go beyond entertainment and contribute to society.

Buterin also asked meme token developers to donate crypto assets directly to charities, rather than sending him tokens unsolicited. To do this, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) could be created to involve more communities in the donation process, Buterin suggested.

Recently, Vitalik Buterin donated 100 ETH worth $240,000 to the legal defense fund of Alexey Pertsev and Roman Storm, who developed the Tornado Cash cryptomixer. US authorities accuse them of facilitating the laundering of criminal proceeds.
