Vitalik Buterin spoke about bitcoin

On July 6, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, along with Udi Wertheimer and Eric Wall, hosted a Twitter broadcast on the topic: “What bitcoiners can learn from Ethereum?”. They addressed several of the main problems of the main cryptocurrency, and Buterin gave some advice to the community.

Vitalik stated that if bitcoin wants to be more than payments, he needs to experiment more. And the main problem of BTC called a very strange policy, with which he feels nothing in common.

The main topic of discussion was scaling, and according to the participants of the podcast, the bitcoin community had a lot to learn from its potential competitor. Ethereum co-founder said:

“It seems to me that if we want bitcoin to become more than just a means of payment, we need to consider scaling options such as Plasma or ZK Rollups, both of which have been successfully tested on Ethereum. Optimism and Arbitrum are two examples of successful rollups that can serve as an example.”

Buterin also touched upon the topic of Ordinals and the positive impact of this technology on the development of the Bitcoin ecosystem. You can read more about this in our material.

And the co-founder of Ethereum ended his speech on a positive note. He made a proposal to unite the two communities.
