Vitalik Buterin was presented with a passport of a citizen of Montenegro

The founder of Ethereum, after predicting the future of the crypto industry in Montenegro, received the citizenship of this Balkan republic.

The Ministry of Finance and Social Security of Montenegro announced that one of the largest experts in the blockchain industry, Vitalik Buterin, has received the citizenship of the country. Buterin accepted the offer, which was made by Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic at the initiative of the Ministry of Finance and with the approval of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Ministry of Finance said that at the initiative of Minister Milojko Spajic in Montenegro, in early April, the event “The Future is Now! A New Era of Montenegrin Finance” (Budućnost Sad! Nova era crnogorskih finansija). It was attended by a group of world experts in the field of the crypto industry, including the founder of Ethereum:

“Cooperation with them is of particular importance to promote the development of the country’s economy, attract investment and create high-paying jobs in the digital industry.”

The authorities of Montenegro believe that Buterin, as the most famous name in the industry, will contribute to the further development of the Montenegrin economy and the development of the crypto industry in the country.

“Montenegro is working to create a legislative framework that will allow the best use of crypto technologies and will contribute to the growth of gross domestic product,” the Ministry of Finance says.

Vitalik Buterin April 7 at the discussion panel Budućnost Sad! Nova era crnogorskih finansija stated that Montenegro should have a good legislative framework and opportunities for training young people so that citizens can massively use cryptocurrency technology.

Governments of countries that understand the importance of adopting cryptocurrencies are taking the most drastic measures to attract crypto experts. In February, Nayib Bukele announced his intention to lure foreign crypto investors by issuing Salvadoran citizenship.
