According to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Web3 infrastructure projects are underinvested, especially in open source projects.

Vitalik Buterin has denied that Web3 infrastructure projects are attracting significant investment. According to him, investors are currently investing heavily in some projects and not enough in others.

“What it really looks like is that people want to invest in the ‘casino’ but also feel good about themselves. So they’re funneling capital into a lot of infrastructure startups that are making side profits from the casino. For any infrastructure, unless it’s open source, that’s not a good thing.”

Let us recall that in the winter of 2023, the programmer stated that the current vector of development of the Web3 infrastructure raises concerns, since it is moving away from decentralization as its most important component.

Earlier, Vitalik Buterin expressed the opinion that the Ethereum blockchain should be prepared for a possible 51% attack – new research is needed to create software to protect the network.
