Vivaldi can now prevent links from opening in apps

After the recent update of the desktop version of Vivaldi to version 4.1, the developers have released an updated browser for mobile devices running Android. Among the various innovations and changes in it, a function has appeared that prohibits opening external links in the corresponding applications. Instead, they open in the browser itself.

The Stay in browser feature prevents you from being redirected to another app on your smartphone or tablet. For example, after clicking on a link with a YouTube video, the YouTube application is launched in the browser window. If this feature is enabled, the video will open in the browser itself.

The current update also includes several new options for customizing open tabs to make working with them easier and more efficient. All of them are associated with different options for opening new tabs.

Additionally, the new version of Vivaldi introduces an option to turn off tab groups, making it easy to organize tabs in the browser. This feature works the same as in Google Chrome, it combines multiple tabs into a block to get rid of the confusion when navigating between them. Now the developers allow you to disable this option if the user does not like this option for grouping tabs. Finally, Vivaldi 4.1 has received support for the Accordion tabs feature, which allows you to expand all groups of tabs in one click.
