Vivendi earned 491 million euros in the first half of 2022, the company said on Thursday (28). The result represents a slight increase of 0.5% compared to the same period last year.
The revenue of the French media company, in turn, grew 10.9% in the period, to 4.873 billion euros. Specifically in the second quarter, revenue was 2.5 billion euros.
The company said it was considering divesting book publisher Editis to avoid competition issues as part of its bid to acquire Lagardere. A possible divestment could materialize through a distribution to shareholders and a listing of the Editis subsidiary in Paris, the company reports.
Editis competes with Lagardere’s Hachette, and Vivendi’s bid to take over the French media company could raise antitrust concerns.
