THE president of Russia Vladimir Putin offered his condolences to Britain for its “irreparable loss”. Queen Elizabethwho died yesterday at the age of 96, Russian news agencies reported.
In a message to Charles, the new king, Mr Putin said Elizabeth “rightly enjoyed the love and respect of her subjects” and had “prestige on the world stage”.
“I wish you courage and endurance in the face of this difficult, irreparable loss. I ask you to convey sincere condolences (…) to the members of the royal family and the entire people of Great Britain”, added the president of the Russian Federation in his message.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expresses his “sadness”.
A condolence message was also issued by president of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He said he was saddened by the news of Queen Elizabeth’s death at the age of 96, offering his deepest condolences to the royal family, people and government of the United Kingdom.
