THE Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that the West is trying to sow discord among the various ethnicities and national groups in Russia and break the country into dozens of different states.
He also said that most of the sanctions, with which the West hits Russia, strengthen the unity of Russian society.
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this year suspended Russia’s participation in the treaty, which puts a cap on the number of strategic nuclear warheads the US and Russia can deploy.
“We can now say only with regret that there are no serious, meaningful contacts on these issues between Moscow and Washington,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
“Let’s just say it’s the last vestiges of the international legal framework in this area that are coming and going.”
