Vocalist of the band Ira! clarifies controversy and apologizes with colleagues

The singer Nasi, 63, vocalist of the band Ira! explained to fans the situation that happened during a show At the end of March that generated controversy and cancellations of presentations, besides apologized with his colleagues from the set .

“I did not know that I would have all this repercussion and it ended up generating losses for them. But let’s recover, as we are already recovering. Ira shows! They are still as always: events that do not generate turmoil. And that’s why we are one of the largest bands with Brazilian rock shows,” he said in a video sent to CNN by the press office on Thursday (24).

Nasi explained in detail the moment of a concert in Contagem, a city in Minas Gerais, on March 29 that generated controversy on social networks and led to the suspension of the band’s agenda.

“The show normally went to a certain point of the song ‘Rubro Zorro’. A part of the audience shouted ‘without amnesty’ and, at the end of the song, I ratified their opinion, because that’s how I think. I solidated myself. That’s when a small group in the background started to boo.

The singer vented by saying that he took the conflict to the personal side because in his career over 44 he heard many provocations – which he considers normal because he was a public person but failed to control himself.

He clarified that, unlike the rumors that emerged on the internet, no one was sent off from the show, that the presentation normally followed, and that he answered fans at the end, without hearing complaints about what happened.

“What I said was that those reactionary people don’t represent the wrath audience!” And I should have emphasized it more clearly, “he admitted.

Nasi continued, telling that even after the episode in Contagem the band did shows in places known for hosting an audience of conservatives and nothing atypical happened.

“This is what I want to pass to you: tranquility. The vitality of the band is up to date. We have a sequence of shows marked in all capitals. The 20 -year -old acoustic will be a page of history remembered by the good, the democratic,” the singer said.

“The shows of Ira! They are made of synergy, empathy, very rock’n’roll, good music – not turmoil,” he concluded.

Remember the controversy

The singer’s words repercussions over the internet, which motivated right -wing groups to encourage a boycott of the band. 3L Entertainment, responsible for the show, published an official note that had canceled the presentations in cities of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

In its pronouncement to CNN the band explains that Nasi was provoked and instigated for seven songs until the singer did not support the incitement and reacted.
