Volkswagen announced on Thursday (28) that it had a drop in operating profit before extraordinary items, which were 4.74 billion euros in the second quarter of 2022, a value 28% lower than in the same period last year.
In the same comparison, the operating margin on sales fell from 9.7% to 6.8%.
The German automaker also said its revenue totaled 69.54 billion euros in the period, up 3.3% from the same time a year earlier.
Profit after tax was €3.91 billion, down from €5.04 billion in the same period last year.
For the full year, Volkswagen continues to expect revenue of 8% to 13% higher than the previous year and operating return on sales of between 7.0% and 8.5%.
“The group expects the product mix to normalize in the second half as the semiconductor situation improves in combination with a strong order backlog,” the automaker said.
