Volkswagen has brought its most affordable crossover, Taos, to Russia. Two engines and Yandex services

Today, May 6, an official presentation of the most affordable Volkswagen crossover was held in Moscow – Taos is ready to conquer the market with modern technologies, a stylish body and, not surprisingly, an attractive price. At the moment, in the Russian market, the crossover is presented in three trim levels – Respect (basic version), Status and Exclusive. Moreover, at the start of sales, Taos will be available for purchase in a limited edition of JOY !, which is, in fact, an improved version of the Status package. In this case, the car will be supplemented with 17-inch wheels, black rear-view mirror housings, tinted rear windows, and the interior of the JOY! decorated with orange decorative elements and lighting.

Also, a potential car buyer has the opportunity to choose one of two engines. The base offers a naturally aspirated 110 horsepower engine in combination with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission on front-wheel drive, but there is also a more powerful turbocharged version of 150 horsepower, which is paired with an 8-speed “automatic” on the same front-wheel drive or on a 7-speed automatic transmission, but already on 4Motion all-wheel drive. The car also received intelligent LED optics IQ.Light, a decent set of sensors (light, rain, parking, and so on).

In addition, the car was not deprived of modern technologies – the dashboard is completely digital, and the VW Play Android multimedia system with its own VW Play Apps is equipped with a 10-inch touch screen. The system supports connection to Wi-Fi hotspots, works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and supports connection to a sound source via Bluetooth and USB. And in the company store it will be possible to download various services, including a whole set of Yandex applications – Yandex.Navigator, Yandex.Music, Yandex.Zapravki, voice assistant “Alice”.

Unfortunately, so far the manufacturer does not name the prices for the new car and the configuration options – they should be announced in the very near future.
