Carmaker Volkswagen has announced free software updates over the air for all models in its ID lineup.
Updates are available for Volkswagen ID.3, ID.4 and ID.4 GTX electric vehicles. As noted by the developers, the first of these updates will provide improved recognition of the environment, intuitive control of the infotainment system, as well as a number of new functions.
Among the new features are the ID strip capabilities. Light at the bottom of the windshield. It now provides information to help the driver drive more economically and use adaptive cruise control. In addition, the image processing of the multifunctional video camera has been improved: now the system detects motorcyclists and other road users faster, including at night. The accuracy of the dynamic high beam control system (if equipped) has been improved. The graphics on the infotainment center display are clearer and the system controls more intuitive. These improvements have been incorporated into the updates thanks to feedback from early ID line owners.
In the future, the company plans to provide free software to car owners every twelve weeks. This will keep the systems up to date and improve the quality of service.
