Volodymyr Zelensky: A “shield” must be created in the sky of Ukraine

The Black Sea “humanitarian corridor” for grain exports from Ukrainian ports needs reliable and long-term means to remain open and the international community must give a “tough response” to any attempt by of Russia to disrupt its operation, said its president Ukrainian, Volodymyr Zelenskyin his night speech where he also referred to the defense needs of his country.

In a video message, Zelensky said commercial ships carrying grain were leaving Ukrainian ports thanks to efforts by the United Nations and Turkey to keep open the corridor established in the July 22 agreement.

“Russia must realize that it will receive a harsh response from the international community to any attempt to disrupt food exports. The lives of tens of millions of people are at stake.”emphasized the president of Ukraine.

At the same time, he claimed that he continued the diplomatic actions and in the context of these he spoke with the president of France, Emmanuel Macron. “I briefed him on our immediate needs, mainly in terms of defense equipment. A “shield” must be created in the sky of Ukraine. We agreed to carry out two important actions. The first will be in December in France to raise the funds to finance the weapons that will protect our skies, but also help us rebuild the infrastructure that has been destroyed.”
