Its president Ukrainian, Volodymyr Zelenskysaid late Monday night (6/3) in his nightly address that top military commanders pledged to continue to defend the Bahamutwhen asked how they intend to deal with the situation in besieged city by Russian forceswhile he asked the citizens of his country to remain united and confident that the victory against Russians invaders will be theirs.
“Today (yesterday), a video came to light of the invaders killing one of our warriors who bravely said to their faces: “Glory to Ukraine” and I want all of us to respond unitedly with the words: ” Glory to the Hero! Glory to the Heroes! Glory to Ukraine!” because it is certain that we will find the murderers”he emphasized and continued:
“It is our unity, our determination and the fact that we love all of Ukraine and every Ukrainian that gives us the knowledge of how this war will end. We know this from his very first days. The time will come when we will liberate every city and every village and punish every act of the Russians against us.”.
Regarding the situation in Bakhmut, Zelensky noted that after talking with the two top generals, it was decided that there would be no retreat. “Both generals answered not to withdraw but to strengthen the defense”he emphasized.
“The military administration “unanimously supported this position. There were no other proposals. I told the general staff to find suitable forces to help our people in Bahamut”the Ukrainian president added in his video message, concluding: “No region of Ukraine can be abandoned” to the Russians.
