Volodymyr Zelensky: The Russian flag means total destruction

Its president Ukrainian, Volodymyr Zelenskyin his night sermon, after midnight on Tuesday (15/11) he spoke about the disasters caused by the Russian soldiers in the areas they occupied on Ukrainian territory and mainly in Kherson.

Where there is Ukrainian importance there is culture and freedom. There is social welfare, infrastructure, security. There is always someone to take care of people. These are all things that disappear when someone invades another country,” he initially emphasized and continued:

This is what the Russian flag means – total destruction. There is no electricity, no communications, no internet, no television. The invaders destroyed everything. This is their… special business. At the threshold of winter, the Russian invaders destroyed all the important infrastructure that people need. All the important infrastructure projects in the city of Kherson and in the wider area are full of mines».

“That’s why,” he added, “it brings great joy to all when we drive the Russians out of our land. Joy that will also go to all those cities and regions of Ukraine that for the time being are deprived of a normal life and endure the Russian yoke both after February 24, but also after 2014. We will recover everything and return everything. We will restore normality. Peace for Ukraine is near».

When there is a Ukrainian flag, there is civilization, there is freedom. There is social security. There is infrastructure. There is security. There is someone to take care of people. There are all the things that disappear and that are destroyed when the occupier comes. This is what the Russian flag means – complete desolation. There is no electricity, no communication, no Internet, no television. The occupiers destroyed everything themselves – on purpose. This is their special operation. On the eve of winter, the Russian occupiers destroyed absolutely all critical infrastructure for the people. Absolutely all important objects in the city and region are mined. It is happiness for everyone when Russia is driven out. Happiness, which will also be in those cities and communities of ours, which are deprived of a normal life by Russia both after February 24 and in 2014. We will return everything. We will return to normal life. And we know that peace for Ukraine is getting closer. For our entire country.

“They blew up a power station,” says Kyiv

The Ukrainian leader’s statement came after the Kiev authorities revealed that before leaving Kherson, Russian forces blew up a power station.

Ukraine’s national power grid operator Ukrenergo said the Russian military had destroyed a key power station in Kherson before withdrawing from the city and the right bank of the Dnieper River last week.

“The station that supplied electricity to the entire right bank in Kherson region and a significant part of Mykolife region has been virtually destroyed”Ukrenergo president Volodymyr Kudrytskyi wrote on social media, adding that this was one of the “consequences of the occupation forces’ fear before they fled.”

“Most of the liberated Kherson area has been without electricity since November 6”, Kudritsky continued. “We are doing our best to supply people with electricity as soon as possible,” he also underlined.

Ukraine “forwarded the list of equipment needed by the Kherson region to our international partners,” he clarified, adding that “Poland and France have already responded.”

Kherson was the first major city and the only regional center captured by the Russian army after the invasion, which began in late February.

Moscow’s forced withdrawal of troops in the face of pressure from the Ukrainian counteroffensive is seen as a defeat for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who in September ordered the mobilization of 300,000 reservists.

The Russian military has conducted waves of massive missile and drone strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in recent weeks.
