Volodymyr Zelensky: The Russians have panicked, but we warned them to either surrender or leave

With the Ukrainian Armed Forces to have launched their counterattack for days to the point that yesterday Monday (19/9) they recaptured Bilohorivka, a village near Lisitsansk, which means that the Russia is no longer in complete control of Luhansk, the president Volodymyr Zelenskyclaimed that the attackers have “panicked”.

In his night speech, the Ukrainian leader referred to the developments from the Kharkiv front primarily. “In the Kharkiv region, we are trying to stabilize the situation and defend our positions. Strongly. So strongly that the invaders have panicked. Of course, we had warned the Russian military in Ukraine to either leave our territories or surrender.”initially emphasized and continued:

“Their partners have the same options. Although according to the data of the Intelligence Service – and I cannot reveal more about this – soon the Russians will not have any “foothold” on our soil”.

“Now, speed plays a very important role. The speed of stabilization of the situation in the liberated areas. The speed at which our troops move. The speed with which the sense of normal life is returning to the places where we have recaptured”, stressed Zelensky who underlined that he will push for more aid to his country at the UN General Assembly.

The president of Ukraine also referred to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. “Ukraine commemorated her at a high level – the Prime Minister of Ukraine (s.a. Denis Smyhal) and the First Lady (s.a. Olena Zelenska) attended. Among the millions who commemorated Her Majesty were many Ukrainians. I am grateful to the Ukrainians in the UK for showing our British friends that Ukraine stands by them at a time of sorrow,” he stressed.

The Kharkiv region – we are stabilizing the situation, holding our positions. Firmly. So firmly that the occupiers are panicking tangibly. We are now confident that the occupiers will not have any foothold on Ukrainian soil. The pace is very important now. The pace of stabilization in the liberated areas. The pace of movement of our troops. The pace of restoration of normal life in the liberated territory. These days, a farewell ceremony for Queen Elizabeth II took place in London. Ukraine honored her memory at a high level – the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the First Lady were present. Among the millions of people who came to pay respects to Her Majesty, there were many Ukrainians. I am thankful to all Ukrainians in the United Kingdom who showed our British friends at this sad moment that Ukraine stands with them.
