At least 30 people died and nearly 100 were injured in an attack on convoys of civilians in Zaporizhia on Friday afternoon (30/9) by the Russian armed forces, according to Ukrainian authorities. Zaporizhia is one of the four regions annexed by Russian Federation after “referendums”.

Its president also referred to this specific attack, which he described as a terrorist attack Ukrainian, Volodymyr Zelenskyin his night sermon. “They had a prank today in Russia. They were singing and celebrating for Zaporizhia, at the same time they were killing innocents. They are not people, but they will pay for it from the first to the last, they will be accountable to Justice and the people of Ukraine”he emphasized.

According to the Ukrainian leader the victims are at least 30, while the number of injured which was initially 88 has reportedly increased to over 100. Among the victims, according to the Ukrainian police, were two children.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian forces had succeeded “important results” in the eastern regions of the country, referring to the Russian-occupied city of Liman.

Zelensky did not elaborate on his videotaped speech. A few minutes earlier, however, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported that the army captured a village, Drobisheve, located very close to Liman, in the Donetsk region.

The Ukrainian leader reported that “now the results on the battlefield are tangible and we will continue to do everything to liberate our people from the occupied territories and continue to fight for our country”. At the same time, he thanked the US and the rest of the allies claiming that he is looking forward to more military aid, but also economic sanctions against Russia.
