Volodymyr Zelensky: Use of Iranian drones is evidence of Russia’s military bankruptcy

Her dependence of Russia from Iranian manufacturing drones for attacks against Ukrainian targets demonstrates Moscow’s “bankruptcy” at the military and political level, its president argued yesterday Tuesday (10/18) Ukrainian, Volodymyr Zelensky.

The use of Iranian weapons amounts to an admission of failure by Moscow after decades of funding the Soviet and post-Soviet defense industry, he added.

According to Kyiv, the recent Russian attacks on infrastructure in Ukraine were launched by Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drones.

Iran denies supplying Russia with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), something the White House says it is confident of. The Kremlin said yesterday that it had no information about the use of Iranian-made drones in attacks in Ukraine.

“Let’s keep in mind that the mere fact that Russia has asked Iran for help is an admission by the Kremlin that it is bankrupt.” on the military and political levels, Zelensky claimed in his video message and explained: “For decades, they spent billions of dollars on their defense industry. And finally, they bowed to Tehran to secure joint drones and missiles.”.

Volodymyr Zelensky, who has said that 30% of Ukraine’s power plants have been knocked out because of the recent attacks, also argued that the use of Iranian-made drones could create hopes and illusions for Russia’s leaders, but ultimately it will not. to help substantially.

“It will just show the world once again that Russia is headed for defeat and trying to drag one more of its accomplices into this atrocity. These 237 days (now 238) that the war has lasted, we have proven that we can find solutions and answers to every threat. Ukraine can defend itself”said the Ukrainian president who reiterated the need for help from his country’s partners regarding the delivery of air defense systems.

Today, the battle for a normal life for our people continued. Some of the Russian drones and missiles were shot down. Thanks again to our anti-aircraft fighters, the Air Forces. In particular, I thank the 138th Dnipro anti-aircraft missile brigade for shooting down four “Kalibrs”. And the Kherson anti-aircraft missile brigade for shooting down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft. Thanks also to all partners who help us with anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense. We should remember that the very fact of Russia’s appeal for help to Iran is the Kremlin’s recognition of its military and political bankruptcy. For decades, they’ve been spending billions of dollars on their military-industrial complex, and in the end they went to bow to Tehran to get rather simple drones and missiles. It won’t help them strategically anyway. But now, at the tactical level, the terrorists may still have certain hopes, calculations. All this will fall apart, just as their previous calculations. 237 days of this war prove that we are able to find an answer to any threats. Ukraine will defend itself. Thank you to everyone who fights and works for our victory!
