Due to a shortage of semiconductor products, which are actively used in new cars, as well as new outbreaks of coronavirus infection, automaker Volvo Cars is forced to suspend work at its plant in Torslanda, on the outskirts of Gothenburg.
This was announced today by a representative of Volvo Cars, which belongs to the Chinese Geely Holding. He added that the forced break in the production of models will last at least from August 30 to September 3, that is, next week.
Due to the current material shortage situation caused by a combination of global semiconductor shortages and new COVID-19 outbreaks, Volvo Cars has decided to suspend production in Torslanda for a week from 30 August to 3 September.

The company added that production is scheduled to resume on Sunday 5 September. The source adds that just two weeks ago Volvo Cars similarly suspended production at its Gothenburg plant.
