The Volvo XC40 Recharge crossover will become available to the first Russian users in early 2022. But it will not be possible to buy it, it is planned to offer it only as part of a branded subscription service for Volvo Car Drive cars.

Then the Volvo C40 Recharge coupe-crossover will be available in regular retail. The recommended retail price is still unknown. In Europe, however, the Volvo C40 Recharge starts at € 57,900.

At one time, the Volvo XC40 Recharge became the company’s first production electric car, its debut took place two years ago. Features include two 408 hp electric motors, 78 kWh batteries, and a 400 km range. Volvo C40 Recharge has an increased range of up to 420 km.

The company plans to increase the share of electric vehicles in its sales to 50% by 2025, and by 2030, completely eliminate the models with internal combustion engines.

The Russian government recently adopted a concept for the development of electric vehicles in Russia. The concept assumes an increase in the share of electric vehicles to 10% of the total production in Russia and the opening of more than 9 thousand charging stations. At the same time, AvtoVAZ plans to start producing electric vehicles in 6-7 years.
