The Federal Senate intends to vote today (23) on two projects that seek to curb fuel prices in the country. According to the rapporteur, Senator Jean Paul Prates (PT-RN), the proposal was modified in recent days – such as the withdrawal of the tax on exports of crude oil – to avoid resistance from parliamentarians. Prates also said there is “no chance” of postponing the vote.

The Superior Court of Justice (STJ) should resume this Wednesday the judgment on mandatory therapies and procedures covered by health plans in the country. The analysis in court may end up restricting the list of therapies established by the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS).

Eletrobras capitalization
At the Extraordinary General Meeting, shareholders yesterday approved the start of the Eletrobras privatization process. The operation was forwarded to the Federal Audit Court (TCU), which must give the approval to start capitalizing the company. A final decision is expected by March. Currently, the government holds 51.82% of the company’s ordinary capital, while the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) holds 16.78%.
