Voyager Digital acquires cryptocurrency payment processing company Coinify with a user base in over 150 countries. The acquisition will accelerate Voyager’s international expansion.
The purchase of Coinify will enable Voyager to provide a reliable and efficient gateway to the cryptocurrency payments industry and diversify cash flows. Coinify’s global enterprise services include custom payment processing in 15 major cryptocurrencies and settlement of transactions in 20 fiat currencies using the easy-to-integrate Coinify API.
“Coinify’s core values of innovation, security and scalability align perfectly with Voyager’s mission to make digital assets available globally,” said Stephen Ehrlich, CEO and co-founder of Voyager.
Under the deal, Coinify shareholders will receive 5.1 million Voyager common stock and $ 15 million in cash.
Voyager plans to integrate its system with payment processing platform Coinify over the next year, allowing customers to process payments directly from cryptocurrency wallets. Coinify allows merchants to accept cryptocurrencies in their businesses by receiving payouts in fiat currencies.
Stephen Ehrlich said payments will be the next big step in Voyager’s growth, given the fact that the user base has grown more than 15 times.
