Waack: After losing engine, plane did not start descent and was completely out of control

An investigation must be carried out to clarify the sudden and nose drop of the China Eastern Airlines Boeing-737 jet, which was carrying 132 people and suffered the accident on Monday (21). There were no survivors.

Moments before the crash, the pilot warned of the loss of the right engine, which caused the aircraft to deviate a few degrees.

As a matter of physics, the plane needed to start descending, as it lost half its power and could not fly at that altitude. If he tried, the speed would decrease until he lost lift.

There was a loss of directional control of the plane, which turned into a complete loss soon after. The reasons must be investigated.

One of the questions that investigators will have to resolve is why the plane did not start its descent immediately — there are directions next to the control cabin that give exactly what altitudes should be considered in cases like this.
