The paramilitary organization Wagner denied today that he is recruiting Serbs to fight in Ukrainea day after activists filed charges against her in Belgrade.
Among those named in the lawsuits were Russia’s ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Bochan-Kharchenko and Aleksandar Vulin, the head of Serbia’s state Security and Intelligence Service.
“I do not recruit Serbs” Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin said in a statement. He also added that he has not heard from either Bochan-Kharchenko or Vulin.
Earlier this week, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the Russia must stop her efforts to recruit Serbs to fight alongside Wagner’s forces. He claimed that Russian websites and social media platforms are posting ads in the Serbian language saying Wagner is looking for volunteers.
