Wagner Moura can win a prize at the Cannes Festival, says website

THE 78th edition of the Cannes Festival comes to an end this Saturday (23), with great chances of prizes for “The Secret Agent” new movie by Kleber Mendonça Filho. And one of these honors can be won by actor Wagner Moura which starred in the movie.

One of the bets of Vanity Fair magazine, The Brazilian actor can take home the best of men’s interpretation award an unprecedented feat for the country until then. Previously, only Fernanda Torres won the honor in the female acting category for her performance in “I know I’ll love you” in 1986.

However, the actor will have a fierce dispute ahead, with the prominent performances of Guillaume Marbeck (“Nouvelle vague”), Aleksandr Kuznetsov (“Two Prosecutors”), and Benicio Del Toro (“The Phoenician Scheme”).

Last year, “Anora”, who also became the best film winner at the Oscar, took the Golden Palm. This year, 22 films compete for the maximum award among them the Brazilian “The Secret Agent”, by Kleber Mendonça Filho.

The Golden Palm winner is chosen by the jury, who in 2025 is chaired by the French actress Juliette Binoche and formed by Halle Berry, Payal Kapadia, Alba Rohrwacher, Leo Slimani, Dieudo Hamadi, Hong Sangsoo, Carlos Reygadas and Jeremy Strong.
