Actor Wagner Santisteban went to the podcast “Vênus” last Tuesday (23) and said he was “raped” by a monkey while recording the series “Sandy & Junior”.
During the conversation, he revealed that he had to be hospitalized in a hurry after the incident and spent a few months without working, as he was traumatized. Despite the trauma, he said he had healed in the soap opera “Caras & Bocas”.
“In ‘Caras & Bocas’ there was a monkey, but that was the cure for a trauma I suffered before. Me, when I was doing ‘Sandy & Junior’, my character was Basílio, a nerd, mocked, the person who was bullied. Today this character of mine would not exist anywhere. There was an episode where a monkey ran away from the circus and ended up at school”, said the actor about what happened to the animal.
“My character was watching the girls change in the bathroom, hidden inside the closet. Ok, he looked to the side and the monkey was on his side, and the whole episode went by like a cartoon, me running and the monkey running”, he began to tell.
The actor said that the animal was accompanied by a trainer, who had scars. The animal was chained and was in heat, according to the actor.
“She just ran after me to finally grab my leg and ‘whisper’. Do you know dog in heat? And I had to let her ‘fuck me’ at the end of the race, and she got mad at me because she spent a week chasing me without knowing why, because I would run and someone would say ‘go after him’, and she it was creating this hatred and I was creating fear”, he continued.
“I went to record the scene at the beginning, which was me in a closet. Me, on a chroma key, green background, a false bottom of a closet, me on my back, they bring the monkey, she saw me standing still for the first time. I didn’t see anything else, I was on my back, she caught me like ‘UFC’, turned me around and started punching me in the face, arrested me and [fez gestos de soco]and I was trying to get out, it was a giant animal, very strong, it started to rip my clothes off, a tuft of hair, and bite me, except it didn’t have teeth, thank God, and it spun me around, spun me around, and nobody knew what to do,” continued the actor.
Then he said he had to be rescued at the hospital after the episode.
“Not even the coach knew what to do, I don’t even know how long it lasted, for me it lasted about 20 minutes, but I think much less. I was ‘literally raped’ by the chimpanzee, and she eventually ripped my boot off and went over there and played with my boot, and I left in a panic. I went to the hospital, I was underage. She was 16 years old. Everyone was worried, I was out of work for a while. And that was in Campinas. I arrived at the hospital and people didn’t know what to do. I was pretty traumatized,” he added.
