Wall Street opens with gains after recent losses

The Wall Street’s main indices opened higher on Thursday after the recent losses caused by the renewed fear of a recession in the US economy that could lead to a continuation of aggressive rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.

The Dow Jones index is currently up 0.37% to 33,723.07, while the Nasdaq Composite has opened the session gaining 0.11% and reaching 11,509.501. Finally, the S&P 500 index advances 0.30% to 3,943.51 points.

On a day with hardly any data on the US calendar except for weekly jobless claims, which have resulted in the expected rise to 230,000 in the week of December 2, traders will be watching market sentiment before from the University of Michigan consumer sentiment data to be released tomorrow.
