For Walt Disney fans, we have news: the mansion that the creator of the iconic Mickey Mouse lived with his family in Los Angeles is available for lease.
For this, it is necessary to disburse about US$ 40,000 per month, that is, more than R$ 190,000, according to information from “People” magazine.
With more than 630 thousand meters, the famous Storybook Mansion, designed by artist and architect Frank Crowhurst, is located in California, in the United States.
The space has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a living room with two floors, a home theater and a lot of glamor, typical of Hollywood of almost 100 years ago.
Inside the mansion, the ceilings have exposed beams, while the walls feature wood paneling. There is also a brick fireplace and original windows. And best of all, overlooking the Los Angeles skyline.
The grounds also include manicured walkways, a swimming pool, covered dining area and a 10-vehicle garage. Another special part is a little house with the theme of “Snow White” that Disney wanted to build for his daughters.
Walt Disney’s Life at the Storybook Mansion
Disney and his wife, Lillian, lived in the residence from 1920 to 1932. The property even looks like it came out of one of his animated classics.
The architecture and fine details inspired beloved characters among the public, such as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, “Maria Poppins” and “Winnie the Pooh”. It is worth mentioning that “Pinocchio”, “Dumbo” and “Bambi” were also made while Disney lived there.
According to the publication, it is believed that the creator had the custom-built house built after discovering that his wife was pregnant with their first child.
Although the home was completed in 1932, the dads lost their baby. However, they later welcomed two girls: Diane Marie, who came into the world in 1933, and Sharon Mae, who was adopted in 1936.
Today, the current owner of the land is Timur Bekmambetov, a filmmaker born in Kazakhstan who acquired the property in 2011. To “The Hollywood Reporter”, in 2016, he said that Disney was a visionary man, who “invented an entire world”.
Occasionally the house has been used for filming and open to the public for special events, advertised on Facebook.
