“Wandinha”: 2nd season of the series will be the biggest production ever filmed in Ireland

The second season of “Wandinha” will be the most expensive production ever filmed in Ireland, the state agency responsible for the country’s audiovisual production has announced. The series began filming in May this year in County Wicklow.

Prime Minister Taoiseach Simon Harris and Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media Catherine Martin visited the set this week to meet those behind the title, including director Tim Burton .

“It was a pleasure to visit the set of Netflix’s Wednesday to see the award-winning team in action and meet acclaimed director and executive producer Tim Burton. I am delighted that Ireland continues to be chosen as a location to film series and films that support our economy, create jobs, showcase our creative talents and promote our country on a global stage,” he said.

“Wandinha” is one of Netflix’s biggest hits, with over 250 million views and four Emmys. The first season has eight episodes and follows the story of Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega at the Never Again school. Check out 13 interesting facts about the series.

In the new season, the members of the Addams family, Gomez, Morticia and Pugsley, will join the main cast of the production and will be at the center of the plot of the new episodes. More details about the plot have not yet been revealed.

In an interview with Vanity Fair in February, Ortega said that the new season will expand the supernatural world of the series and revealed that the episodes will be more striking individually.

Much of the cast from the first season returns for the new episodes, such as Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia), Luis Guzman (Gomez), Emma Myers (Enid), Joy Sunday (Bianca), Hunter Doohan (Tyler), Victor Dorobantu (The Thing) and Moosa Mostafa (Eugene).

Also, names like Christopher Lloyd (“The Addams Family” and “Back to the Future”), Steve Buscemi (“Rent dogs”), Billie Piper (“Doctor Who”), Noah Taylor (“The fantastic chocolate factory”), Thandiwe Newton (“Westworld”), Haley Joel Osment (“The Sixth Sense” and “The Kominsky Method”), Joonas Suotamo (“Star Wars”) and more joined the cast of the series.
