A fugitive from justice for rape in Rio Grande do Norte, a man was arrested on Sunday (1), by the Federal Highway Police (PRF), on BR 407, in Juazeiro, Bahia. He had been wanted since June of this year, when an arrest warrant was issued by the 3rd Regional Criminal Execution Court of Mossoró.
The man was found during a routine PRF procedure. The police were carrying out an inspection at Km 6 of BR 407, when they stopped a bus that had left Goiânia/GO, heading to João Pessoa/PB.
When approaching the passengers, the team discovered that there was an open arrest warrant for one of the travelers, valid until 2031.
In his statement, the man said he was serving a semi-open sentence and failed to sign the lawsuit. After being approached, he was taken to the Juazeiro Civil Police Station to be brought before the courts.
