The non-governmental organization Human Rights Watch (HRW) accused the USA and their allies that they do not criticize the violations in the operations of his army Israel in the Gaza Strip.
“The reaction of Washington and – with few exceptions – the European capitals to Israel’s actions in Gaza since October 7 is silence,” the NGO commented.
“Where is the clear condemnation as the sixteen-year blockade of the Lane of Gaza, which amounts to collective punishment, a war crime?’ Where is the “outrage” over statements by Israeli leaders to “blur the capital distinction between civilians and fighters in Gaza” as they “order even more intense bombardment of this densely populated area, turning entire neighborhood blocks into rubble?” the NGO wonders.
“Where are the clear and unequivocal calls for Israel to abide by international rules in its attack on Gaza, let alone accountability?”
According to Human Rights Watch’s commentary, signed by Tom Porteus, deputy program director, international humanitarian law mandates that civilians be protected and is supposed to apply to “all” states. Mr. Porteous referred to her invasion of Russia in Ukraine, where he recalls how Western countries have insisted on the importance of observing the rules of war in their efforts to secure international support for Kiev and isolate Moscow. “THE hypocrisy and the two measures and the two standards of the western states are blatant and obvious”, according to his comment.
He insisted that this risked undermining the hard work of humanitarian aid and defense organizations. of human rights, as well as some countries, “to strengthen and standardize the rules for the protection of civilians” in wars around the world.
