According to a Wall Street Journal report, Vladimir Putin reportedly presented to the US Special Envoy, Steve Witkov, a proposal that suggests partial withdrawal from his initial positions, with the aim of exposing the war in Ukraine. Moscow’s central demand is for the departure of the Ukrainian forces from Donbas, while Russia will continue to control Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea. The proposal was made during the meeting of the two men in the Kremlin on Wednesday and foresees a ceasefire, since Ukraine completely abandoned the Donetsk province.
