War in Ukraine: At least nine dead and 20 wounded by a Russian strike on a hospital in the Sumy region

Nine people, including a nurse, were killed and around 20 others were injured today (9/28) in a double Russian strike on a hospital in the Sumy region of northeastern Ukraine, local Ukrainian authorities said. “The toll (…) is heavier: it is now confirmed that nine people have been killed,” the Sumi regional administration announced on the Telegram service. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine clarified that the affected hospital was the Saint Panteleimon Clinic, near the center of the city of Sumy. According to this source, 19 people were injured. Russia, which struck with Shahed drones, “is waging war on hospitals, civilian infrastructure and people’s lives. Only force can compel Russia to make peace. Peace through strength is the only right path,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
