War in Ukraine: Australian PM does not want to see Putin at G-20

THE Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison stated today (24/3) that it expresses its objections and concerns about the participation of the Russian president Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit scheduled to be held in Indonesia this year.

“The idea is to sit around a table with Vladimir Putin, whom the United States is already able to accuse of war crimes“It’s going well for me”, the conservative prime minister stressed in the press.

The Russian ambassador to Indonesia said yesterday Wednesday (23/3) that the president of her country intends to participate in the summit of the Group of Twenty most developed economies in the Asian country, downgrading the positions of other member states on expulsion of Russia from the international economic organization.

Of course, the international community is waiting for the developments from today’s meeting of NATO and the European Union, which are expected to outline the strategy of the next steps against the Russian president. Some countries, such as Germany and Austria, for example, have expressed dissatisfaction with Putin’s demand that they pay in rubles for the gas and oil they buy from his country.

It should be noted, however, that Poland proposed the exclusion of Russia from the G-20 to US officials, with Warsaw claiming, in fact, that this proposal received a “positive response”.

The country’s Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Peter Novak, said in a statement that the issue was discussed at meetings last week in Washington, the APE reported, citing Reuters.

“In the meetings with Gina Raimondo (US Secretary of Commerce), among other things, we proposed that Russia be excluded from the G20 and we received a positive response. The issue will be addressed by President Joe Biden, Novak told reporters in Warsaw.
