War in Ukraine: Barrage of cyber-attacks against Ukrainian websites

Ukrainian websites are under constant attack by Russians hacker since the Kremlin launched it invasion of the country last month, the cyber control service of Kiev announced on Saturday.

In a post on Twitter, Ukraine’s State Communications and Intelligence Service said that “Russian hackers continue to attack Ukrainian information resources incessantly.”

The agency said websites belonging to the presidency, parliament, cabinet, defense ministry and home office were among those hit by distributed denial of service (DDoS) operating by directing a firehose of traffic to targeted servers.

“We will endure! “On the battlefield and in cyberspace!” he said.

In the past, Russia has denied that it was behind cyber-attacks, including those aimed at influencing US elections.

Russian sites have also been forged with DDoS attacks. Ukraine has called on its hackers to help protect critical infrastructure and conduct cyber-espionage missions against Russian troops.

On Friday, Russia’s National Coordinating Center for Computer Incidents said there had been “massive computer attacks” on Russian intelligence.
