War in Ukraine
Poland sent a convoy with ammunition to Ukraine. The information was confirmed by the Polish Defense Minister. This was the first shipment of military aid recognized by Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
Uefa changes Champions League final
UEFA, European football’s governing body, withdrew the Russian Champions League final. The championship decision would be in Saint Petersburg on May 28, but because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the headquarters were transferred to Paris.
Formula 1 suspends Russian GP
Formula 1 has decided to suspend the Russian Grand Prix, because of the war. The race was scheduled for September 25, in the city of Sochi.
Change of command of the Federal Police
President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) changed the command of the Federal Police. The current director general of the PF, Paulo Maiurino, was dismissed from his post. The one who takes over is Márcio Nunes de Oliveira, who was the PF regional superintendent in the Federal District.
Butantan delivers flu vaccines
The Butantan Institute delivered the first batch of updated flu vaccines for the Darwin strain of the Influenza A virus. In all, 2 million doses were delivered to the National Immunization Program of the Ministry of Health.
