In a teleconference with journalists, the representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov reiterated Moscow’s assessment that Kyiv is behind the attacks.
Kyiv, for its part, said Moscow bombed the plant, which is located in Russian-controlled territory in southern Ukraine.
“We are not discussing the case of recruiting additional Russians to fight in Ukraine”
At the same time, the Kremlin, as reported by the Athens News Agency, stated today, Monday (21/12) that it is not discussing the case of recruiting additional Russians to fight in war in Ukraine.
Asked by reporters if Russia was planning a new round of conscription, Peskov said: “I can’t speak on behalf of the Defense Ministry, but there are no discussions about this in the Kremlin.”
The Kremlin has also said it will “bring to justice” those responsible for what it says is the execution of Russian soldiers in Ukraine and will do everything possible to draw attention to what it has called a war crime.
Russia said last week that Ukrainian soldiers executed more than 10 Russian prisoners of war, accusing Kyiv of committing war crimes and the West of ignoring them.
