The head of the UN human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine, Matilda Bogner, said this week that the country has suffered thousands more deaths than recorded in official figures since the start of Russia’s almost three-month invasion. .

Amid the fighting in eastern and southern Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin maintains the speech that the military offensive aims to guarantee the sovereignty of his country.
