War in Ukraine: Drone crashes at Kursk railway station

An unmanned aircraft (drone) of Ukrainian crashed into the roof of a railway station in the city of Kursk, injuring five people and causing a fire, regional governor Roman Starovoit said.

“Ukrainian drone attack in Kursk”Starovoit wrote on the Telegram app, “according to preliminary information, it crashed into the roof of the station building, and then a fire broke out on the roof.”

“Five people were slightly injured by broken glasses”he added, clarifying that the rescue services are at the scene.

Kursk is about 90 kilometers from Russia’s border with Ukraine.

Russian authorities said for their part that another drone attack against Moscow was prevented.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, which is cited by TASS, the drone was spotted over the Stupinsky sector, in the Moscow region, while it was heading towards the capital.

It was destroyed by means of electronic warfare and crashed without causing any casualties or damage, the ministry said, denouncing an attempted “terrorist attack” by the Kiev regime.

TASS also reported that Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports serving the Russian capital were briefly closed before resuming operations.
