War in Ukraine: Erdogan, Zelensky discuss progress of Moscow-Kiev talks

The Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by telephone today with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky The two leaders discussed the situation in Ukraine and the stage of negotiations between Kiev and Moscow, announced the Turkish presidency.

Erdogan told Zelensky that he had stressed at the NATO summit his support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and that he had conveyed in bilateral talks there the “effective” diplomatic efforts Turkey has made, the statement said.

Negotiations with Moscow are “very difficult,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said today, more than a month after the start of the Russian invasion. “The negotiation process is very difficult,” the Ukrainian foreign minister said in a press release, dismissing any “consensus” with Moscow at this stage.
