Explosions were reported in districts of Kyiv in the early morning hours today (15/5), according to the authorities. According to local authorities, three people were injured.
“Explosions in Kyiv. Some in the Solomiansky District”Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported via Telegram. Several cars caught fire, he added, noting that three people were injured. He added that debris fell on a zoo in the Shevchenkivski district.
“The air defense is working”, assured for his part the head of the office of the president Volodymyr Zelensky, Andrii Yermak, via Telegram. He declined to go into further detail.
The military command of the Kiev region also reported via Telegram that air defense systems repelled a new attack by Russia on the Ukrainian capital.
Journalists from the Reuters news agency reported hearing several explosions that appeared to be caused by the downing of targets by anti-aircraft defenses.
