A foreign-flagged ship sailed to Ukraine today for the first time since the Russian invasion and the start of the war in February to load grain, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov announced.
The cargo ship Fulmar S, under the flag of Barbados, is in the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure that the ports will be able to welcome and handle more ships. In particular, we plan to reach the level of at least three to five ships per day in two weeks,” the Ukrainian minister wrote on Facebook.
Ukraine’s goal is to transport 3 million tons per month from Black Sea ports, Oleksandr Kubrakov clarified.
About 20 million tons of grain from last year’s harvest remain stranded in Ukraine.
