At least 40 civilians have been killed and dozens more are still missing after a Russian missile hit an apartment building in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. Flowers were left to monument in Moscow which honors Ukrainian poetess after the missile strike. The Astra news website, which is considered close to the Russian opposition, reported that “people leave flowers and toys in memory of the victims in Dnipro” in this monument, in the center of the Russian capital.
It is a monument that honors the Ukrainian poet Lesia Ukrainka.
A framed photograph depicting damaged apartments of the apartment building in Dnipro was also left at the memorial.
On Sunday, the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky lashed out—in Russian—against Russia’s citizens who are “silent because they are cowards” even though they “understand everything,” referring to the missile strike in Dnipro.
