War in Ukraine: Four a four Putin and Erdogan today

The Russian president Vladimir Putin arrived in the Kazakh capital to participate in meetings of various regional organizations, a img close to the government in Astana told Reuters news agency.

Mr. Putin will participate in the session of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), as does Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and leaders of several more states, especially in Asia.

The Russian president plans to hold one-on-one meetings with Mr Erdogan and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, according to the Athens News Agency.

As Agence France-Presse reported, Moscow did not rule out the possibility that the two leaders would also discuss the Turkish proposal for peace talks, but the Foreign Ministry said it had no information on the matter through official diplomatic channels.

“Preparations are underway for the meeting”, which will take place on Thursday, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, specifying that this will be an opportunity to discuss “the situation in Ukraine, bilateral relations and to exchange views on current affairs”.
