For the first time since its inception war in Ukraine the German army (Bundeswehr) activated the so-called “Flying hospital” to transport Ukrainians injured. The MedEvac Airbus A310 aircraftowned by the German Air Force, took off from Cologne-Bonn airport in the direction of Zesuf in southern Poland to transport to Germany Ukrainian injured children and adults, according to a report DW.
The “flying hospital”, which can fly 11,000 kilometers without refueling, has six intensive care units and 38 places for people with less serious injuries, or a maximum of 56 places for the injured. The distribution of places depends on the medical needs. The patients are monitored by 25 doctors, intensive care unit and paramedical staff. The aircraft has oxygen supply systems, blood circulation control, injections, small ultrasound machine and other medical equipment.
