President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) met this Sunday (21) with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, during the G7 summit meeting in Japan. The two talked about the relationship between the countries and the war in Ukraine.
According to Planalto, Lula highlighted that Brazil and India “are countries of the greatest importance for the design of a new global geopolitics”.
In turn, Modi declared that Brazil and India are not “neutral countries” in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but countries interested in maintaining peace in the world.
Also according to Planalto, Modi expressed interest in working together with Brazil in search of a peaceful solution to the conflict in Eastern Europe.
On social networks, Lula wrote: “I hope we resume deepening with this great country that is India. We have immense potential for joint work and trade between Brazil and India”.
