THE Russia war in Ukraine could last “years”, warned the Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Jens Stoltenbergin an interview with the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag and published in its current issue, added that the supply of advanced weapons to the Ukrainian troops could increase the chances of Donbass being detached from Russian control.
“We have to prepare for the fact that it could take years. “We must not slow down Ukraine’s support,” Stoltenberg told Bild on Sunday. “Even if the costs are high, not only those of military support, but also those of rising energy and food prices,” the Norwegian added.
A new NATO military aid package to Ukraine is expected to be agreed at a NATO summit in Madrid later this month, which will help its army leave behind Soviet-era equipment and acquire NATO equipment, Stoltenberg said.
Ukraine pledged on Saturday that its forces would defeat those in Moscow, as it continued to pound the strategic city of Donbass and other locations were attacked by artillery and rockets.
