War in Ukraine: Japan considers withdrawing from joint projects with Russia as a measure of pressure

Japan had already announced a first package of sanctions on Wednesday (23/2), following the recognition by Russian President Vladimir Putin of the self-proclaimed People’s Republics of Lugansk and Danieck as independent state entities.

Japanese Finance Minister Sunichi Suzuki clarified that among the Russian banks whose resources will be frozen under Japanese jurisdiction are VEB, Promsvyazbank and Rossiya Bank.
