War in Ukraine: “Kiev air defense shot down two Russian Su-35 fighters”

The air defense in the Kiev region on the night of March 1 shot down two Russian Su-35 fighters, reports the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, citing a statement by its administration. Air Force of Ukraine posted on Facebook:

“On the night of March 1, in the Kiev region, a particularly fierce air battle took place between two MiG-29 fighters of the Ukrainian Air Force and two Russian Su-35 fighters. During the air battle and the two Russian planes were shot down».

“In addition to the MiG-29 air-to-air missiles, S-300 anti-aircraft remote-controlled missiles were fired at the attackers by the local Air Command’s Missile Brigade Center,” the statement said.

According to the same source, the armed forces lost an aircraft MiG-29however, and efforts are being made to locate the pilot.
