The Ukrainian nuclear energy company, the Energoatomtoday accused the Russia that bombed the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia again, in the south Ukrainewhich is the largest in Europe.
“Russian terrorists bombed the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant again overnight,” Energoatom said in a Telegram post.
They were caused by this bombardment, as reported by APE-MPE power line damagewhich resulted in the shutdown of several transformers of the nuclear plant’s reactor 6 and the operation of emergency generators for a short time, Energoatom explained.
“Neither presence of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors does not stop them” the Russians, the Ukrainian company added, and called on the IAEA to take “stronger actions” against Moscow.
THE Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, which Russian forces have occupied since the first weeks of their invasion of Ukraine in February, has been the target of bombings many times the last months.
TKyiv and Moscow blame each other for these bombings and accuse each other of nuclear blackmail.

Also at the beginning of the invasion, Moscow’s forces seized the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, in northern Ukraine, where in 1986 the worst nuclear accident in history had occurred. This station, which has been closed since 2000, is located in an area highly contaminated by radioactive waste.
